27 Now ye are the body of Christ,
and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers,
after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all
prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues?
do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
1 Corinthians 12:27-31
The people of Latin America are diverse and yet
cohesive. Panameños and Colombianos are a range of every color in the racial spectrum: black, white, brown and
every shade in between. With a racial mix that combines Indian, Spanish and African traditions, the culture there is
intriguing and wide-ranging. Throughout Central and South
America there is a legacy that embraces a pride and love of country and its people. Except those areas influenced by American prejudices, the bigotry towards skin color found in North American
and European countries doesn’t exist there. What an uplifting and inspirational
way of life!

I cherish my Latin American heritage.
You find such pride and courage in the face of tremendous odds. In Panama and Colombia, where poverty can be a generational
way of life, you find a sincere gift of helps and encouragement among the people there. There is a strong sense of la
familia y la corazon: family and heart.
8 Charity never faileth: but
whether there be prophecies, they shall fail;
whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part,
and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I
thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put
away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but
then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope,
charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1Corinthians 13:8-13

Proverbs 22
1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and
gold.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from
him.
My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother.

15 Beware
of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye
shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even
so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A
good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every
tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
