MENTALLY UNSTABLE WOMAN KILLS CHILDREN

A mentally unstable woman today set afire her three children here early today.

Police said one of the children survived with serious burn injuries while two others dies before help could arrive.

A resident of Barha railway colony in Alambah area, Nirmala Chaurasia locked her children aged 6, 4 and one years respectively in a room and set it afire using wood and woolen clothes.

Shaili (4) and Mukka (1) died while Shailu (6) was rushed to a local hospital with serious burns.

The incident took place when Nirmala's husband Mansharam left for work in the wee hours. The couple's eldest child Divya (12) managed to escape and raised an alarm.

Nirmala was arrested.
